Overview

M&O were employed by Siemens Healthineers to refurbish an existing Cath Lab at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate Heart Clinic under a Design and Build Contract in preparation for the installation of a Siemens Artis Q, a precise, high performance 3D angiography system (link).

The works consisted of the following;

-Full Architectural, Structural and M&E Design all to HTM and Building Control Compliance

-Structural Works, including structural ceiling, to meet the new equipment requirements and related items

-Replacement of existing lead lined and fire rated doors

-Installation of full height Whiterock cladding to provide an easy clean environment

-Design and Installation of HTM Compliant furniture

-Full new Electrical installation including new equipment supply cable; equipment specific wiring; lighting scheme; door access system; mechanical plant supplies; IPS & UPS

-Installation of new Medical Gas Pendant and local area valve zone module

-Removal of existing and installation of new Delair Air Handling Unit and ductwork in restricted access roof space; manufactured offsite and constructed insitu

-Design and installation of new BMS System integrating all existing and new equipment, linked back to the Estates Department for efficient monitoring

-Replacement of existing sanitaryware and related IPS Units

-All new finishes to meet end user and infection control requirements
