This project was a D&B turnkey scheme for the creation of 4nr new Cath Labs and a Recovery area within an existing hospital area, all carried out on a Phased arrangement whilst maintaining day-today hospital operations. The project also involved the supply and installation of a complete new IPS/UPS system and UPS configuration for all small power and lighting within the Cath Labs and Recovery area, with the electrical infrastructure being re-modelled to facilitate the scheme.  

The electrical works carried out included the following:

• • A fully designed electrical system

  • Electrical isolations using company LOTO procedure

  • Alterations to the existing electrical infrastructure

  • Removal of all redundant electrical fixtures and fittings

  • Upgrades to existing panel boards

  • Strip out of existing finishes

  • Installation of a fully compliant HTM 06-01 IPS/UPS system

  • Dedicated distribution boards for mechanical plant, IPS/UPS, small power and lighting

  • Complete new earthing system within the Cath Lab and recovery area

  • LED lighting system including colour changing perimeter lighting

  • Fully UPS backed distribution network for with dedicated distribution boards for each lab

  • Fire alarm and nurse call alterations

  • Lighting protection and surge protections works
